Chris Flood

Bio

Chris started playing music at a young age, sitting down at a vintage electronic organ and quickly picking up basic chords and learning how to play tunes he knew by ear. This love for music developed throughout his teenage years and he taught himself the basics on keys, drums and finally moved on to guitar, an instrument he stuck with for songwriting. A music teacher noted his ability to sing; and within weeks Chris had been snapped up by a high school rock band. He played front man of a couple of bands, playing gigs in pubs around the Isle of Man before deciding to go solo.

Building a reputation as a strong performer, and expanding to playing in the North of England, Chris recorded his first album and released it in 2009. A state of poor mental health followed this, and Chris ceased playing for a couple of years. He wrote and recorded - but never released - a second album; and after regaining his confidence he began again from square one, playing with old school friends in a band before the band inevitably folded. Writing more but performing less, he decided to turn his negative experiences into a positive one.

New Dawn and the songs that followed would make up the New Dawn EP; and now Chris is keen to use this platform to show others that they can completely turn around their own mental health issues, and point out how important removing the stigma attached to it is. By making a change in direction and taking brave decisions, both in life and musically.
